Identify Your Garden with an Address Painted on Rocks

A way to make your garden and yard distinctive is to display rocks with your address painted on them. Painted rocks can also be used as unique memorial markers.

You can see how different types of rocks and pavestones found at home improvement stores can be hand painted to beautifully and uniquely identify your garden, home, yard, or gravesite.

  1. I have just started painting rocks and am having trouble with my painting. I have tried sealing the rocks first but I still can't seem to get an even covering. What am I doing wrong?

    1. Welcome to rock painting, Kiwi Crafter. You are not doing anything wrong; I've had the same experience. Some rocks have more moisture in them than others which can affect how the paint adheres. Most times, I need to apply 2-3 coats of paint to get good coverage. Instead of sealing the rocks first, a coat of white acrylic paint may be a better alternative to help the subsequent coats of paint adhere and cover the rock. Keep in mind that several thin coats of paint are better than one thick coat.
